When I was in the Philippines and still single I am debt free but when I enter the states and got married my challenge in life begun. Most people here have debts everywhere from house mortgage, lots of bills, Credit card debt and so on. Just driving me nuts! I hate debts but this is America where debts is also important for your credit history, this way people will trust you if you want to purchase or loan a big amount. You you just have to be careful and wise dealing with your financial matters so you won't end up buried in debts or Bankruptcy. It wasn't that bad as what i though and got advice on how to manage well our finances so we can start saving money for the future and they also suggested me to check my credit history at least once a year just to be safe.

Now my biggest concern is our kid education plan for college, I really want to get one. And of course our retirement plan for our future. When we get old we plan to stay in the Philippines during winter time here, so we really need to set up a savings account for that.
